Clinic Policies
At The Menopause Clinic, our goal is to provide timely, compassionate, and comprehensive care to as many women as possible. To help us serve our community well, please review our clinic policies before booking.

Appointments & Referrals
- Referrals: A referral from your primary care provider is required for all appointments, except for Pap smears, which can be booked directly.
- Services Covered by Alberta Health (Insured): All medically necessary services such as physician consultations and follow-up visits.
- Uninsured Services: Multidisciplinary care, integrative wellness programs, and comprehensive packages. These are private-pay services not covered by Alberta Health.

Cancellation, No-Show & Late Arrival Policy
We kindly ask for 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. This allows us to offer the appointment to another patient on our waitlist. We do understand that emergencies can occur. However, we ask that you follow our clinic guidelines as best as possible so we can keep our wait times short, run on time, and serve our community in the best possible way.
- Late Arrivals: We strive to run on time. Patients who arrive more than 5 minutes late for their scheduled appointment will not be seen, and this will be considered a no-show, incurring the applicable fee.
- Nurse Pre-Screen or Follow-Up Appointments: No-show, late cancellation (within 48 hours), or same-day cancellation: $50 fee.
- Physician First Consultation: No-show, late cancellation, or same-day cancellation: $150 fee.
- Physician Follow-Up Appointments: No-show, late cancellation, or same-day cancellation: $65 fee.
If we do not hear from you within 7 days of a missed follow-up appointment, future appointments will be cancelled to allow other patients to be seen.

Deposits & Payments
- A deposit and credit card on file will be required for uninsured services, and patients will be informed of this at the time of booking.
- Payment for uninsured services and no-show fees is due at the time of service.
